Raindrop Suncatcher
Ring in spring one drop at a time! Embrace April showers (before May flowers!) with this crayon melting suncatcher craft.
Supplies:
- Crayola Crayons
- Crayola Scissors
- Duct Tape
- Wooden Dowel
- Clear Tape
- Crayon Sharpener
- Wax Paper
- Hair Dryer
- String
Steps:
1 Unwrap 4–6 crayons, then use crayon sharpener to create shavings.
2 Lay piece of wax paper on protected surface. Evenly sprinkle shavings onto wax paper.
3 Place slightly larger piece of wax paper overtop. Seal edges with duct tape.
4 With the help of an adult, use hair dryer to melt shavings. Let cool 15 min.
5 Cut raindrop shapes out of wax paper.
6 Tie piece of string onto wooden dowel.
7 Tape raindrops to string.
8 Repeat steps 6–7 until suncatcher is complete.
9 Hang and enjoy catching a sun shower!

Try taping your raindrops so they hang at different heights.

If needed, trim any excess string from your suncatcher.
