Try these troubleshooting tips to get your Crayon Factory Working!
Did the red light turn on? If not…
- Make sure the AC adaptor is connected to an outlet that has electrical power and can provide 120 VAC.
- Make sure the DC plug of the AC adaptor is connected securely to the back of the Crayon Factory socket.
Does the chamber door close properly? If not…
- Make sure the mold is inserted in the right direction. The arrow must be facing you and pointing upward. The mold has to be inserted this way to allow the chamber door to close.
Did the chamber light up white? If not…
- Make sure the chamber door is properly closed. The preheat cycle will not start until the door is closed. When it’s correctly closed, the white light will turn on.
Did the chamber light flash white? If not…
- If the white light didn’t flash, but the red light did, there is an error. This may have happened due to the door not being closed all the way before the yellow button was pushed.
- If this was the reason, not to worry! The unit will unlock itself after a few minutes, allowing the unit to cool down. Leave the unit powered on during this time. After the unit is cooled, you can begin another cycle.
Did the white light stop flashing?
- Make sure you wait the appropriate time for the preheat cycle, which can take from 1-4 minutes.
The mold wasn’t filled with Wax?
Why?
- There may not have been enough crayon pieces to fill the mold.
- You may have forgotten to remove the label or pieces of the label from the crayon, which may damage the unit.
What to do?
- Try to run a cycle without a crayon and wiggle the unit when the chamber light stops flashing to allow for any stuck pieces to fall into the heating chamber.
You forgot to remove the label from your crayon before inserting it into the unit?
If the unit was locked (the cycle was started):
- Wait until the cycle is finished before attempting to remove the labeled crayon.
The crayon jammed in the tube and didn’t drop?
- Try to run a cycle without a crayon and wiggle the unit when the chamber light stops flashing to allow for any stuck pieces to fall into the heating chamber.
If the label wasn’t removed from the jammed crayon:
- Wait until the cycle is finished before attempting to remove the labeled crayon. After the cycle is finished, any adult can use a screwdriver to remove the labeled crayon.
The yellow button was pushed while there wasn’t a crayon inserted?
- Don’t power off your unit. Wait until the unit completes its cycle before starting a new one.
For Best Results:
- Do not unplug unit during heating cycle. This will cause the cycle to start over.
- After wax is cool and dry, scrape off all visible wax from inside of the mold before use. Don’t forget the small piece of wax in the funnel.
